HTC licensing agreement with Apple leads to good expectations for 2013!

Back in November HTC licensing agreement with Apple ended the 32 months intellectual property battle with Apple, started in March 2010. The two companies have signed a 10-year license agreement that covers all current, pending and future patents of the two companies. It is estimated that HTC pays Apple between $6 and $8 for every Android smartphone HTC sells. HTC has the right to use Apple patents but with an anti-cloning provision witch protects Apples products distinguishability. The settlement saves HTC from one of the biggest threats to the stock, eliminating the possibility of HTC being shut out of the U.S. ...

Dopod is history. HTC start selling in China under its own name.

It’s long been the case that if you wanted a HTC handset over in the world’s most populous nation, you’d have had to look for its rebadged variant under the Dopod brand. But, as of today, that is no more. The prolific Taiwanese phone maker has decided that its name is now recognizable and valuable enough in China to be put on its own hardware and is kicking off a campaign with four own-branded phones. Mystery HTC Windows Phone 7 device

A candybar slate from HTC with a 3.7-inch SLCD and 1GHz Snapdragon processor -- sounds about rightfor the Desire, but this little puppy is actually running Windows Phone 7 (presumably a developer build, given the apps catalog). According to our tipster, the three buttons under the screen are touch-sensitive à la Nexus One, the camera boasts 8 megapixels of memory retention, and the "hardware is ready."
