HTC Radar Review

With the introduction of the latest version of Windows Mobile with the name of Mango OS, the number of windows based smart phones has also increased. The recent addition from HTC in the line of Windows based phones happens to be HTC Radar 4G which was released on 2nd of November at a price of $100 and under a two-year contract with T-Mobile. Like most other smartphones from HTC, this device also showcases the usual unibody aluminum construction. However, the color of the device happens to be white, unlike most other devices from HTC so far. Overall, the physical structure is quite smart and slick and fits nicely in the hand. The displays of the device are also impressive and Windows Mobile has a large part in it. The device comes with 3.8” WVGA Super LCD display which is not the best in HTC line but still it is pretty decent. Good thing about the display of this phone is that it works pretty good outdoors, under bright light situations, where most other devices give up.

Talking about the important technical specifications of this device, it runs on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and contains 512 MB of RAM memory. Although these specs are not really extraordinary, the device itself is nonetheless impressive and delivers fine performance with consistency. The dynamic approach that Microsoft has adopted in this latest metro user interface is pretty impressive. The phone would certainly facilitate a lot of impressive applications from Microsoft. However, users would find only a few of the third party applications pre-loaded with this device. Some of the important third party applications that you would find with this phone happen to be Netflix, Slacker Radio, TeleNav GPS Navigator, and T-Mobile TV. Other than applications from Microsoft, users would also have an access to HTC Hub and HTC Watch for additional entertainment. Talking abut the camera of this phone, we would have a 5 mega pixel rare end camera on board with the facilities of LED flash, auto-focus and HD video recording in 720p. The image results of this camera are pretty impressive, although the video recording capability is not the best.

Overall, HTC Radar is a pretty decent phone from HTC and we can safely consider it among the best phones running Windows Mobile OS. With the latest version of Windows Mobile being highly praised by critic and liked by common users, we can certainly expect some high end devices running this OS to be released in near future.
