Which one feels better in your hands?

For Samsung Galaxy S4 the design wasn’t such a big surprise as the device is very similar and almost unchanged comparing to Galaxy S3. The device feels lightweight and confortable to hold, despite its considerable dimensions, 136.6×69.8×7.9mm and 133g. The plastic case is the same used for Galax S3 or at least it fells just the same.

Galaxy S4 has a 5-inch display, wider than the HTC One with a 4.7-inch screen but the difference isn’t that noticeable. Even though a narrower screen like HTC One’s often means a more palm friendly phone the S4 is lighter due to the complete plastic construction and it is thinner though with 7.9mm thickness compared to the One’s 9.3mm.

HTC One dimensions: 137x68x9.3mm and 143g, notably smaller than the DROID DNA / Butterfly. The super durable aluminum case feels premium and we give a big plus to HTC One luxury incredible touch and look. Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One have a totally different approach of design and HTC One looks far as quality expensive product, which in fact it is.

Display – what you see is what you get!

Samsung Galaxy S4 is featured with a 5 – inch, 1080×1920 Super AMOLED touchscreen with a pixel density of 441-ppi and off course protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, TouchWiz UI. The screen works with gloves and air gestures, nice features isn’t it?

HTC One has a 4.7-inch, 1080×1920 Super LCD3 touchscreen working at 469-ppi-pixel density, Corning Gorilla Glass 2, HTC Sense 5.0 UI.

Both devices are impressive on this aspect, with very similar resolutions and display tech. The lucky ones, who spend a lot more time with both devices said the GS4 is showing us a high contrast and lush colors while the HTC One is more natural although displaying quite vibrant colors that are more visible when using the device in bright daylight due to higher brightness. Both screens have very good viewing angles although HTC One seems to retain the normal tones of its colors, whereas the Galaxy S4 is quickly degrading colors quality when handsets are slowly rolled.

If we take the design as a standpoint the HTC One wipes the floor with Samsung Galaxy S4. The One is the phone to be seen with but what matters is also on the inside so stay tuned as we are coming with the hardware and technical feature comparison between HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4!
