HTC financial results to be improved in 2013!

With a market share and net profit falling down for the fifth consecutive quarter to its lowest level since 2006, HTC had perhaps the most difficult year in 2012. According to market-research firm International Data Corp, HTC's global smartphone market share, went down from 10.3% in 2011 to 4% in the third quarter of 2012. In the same quarter of 2012 Samsung global market share was 31.3%, followed by Apple's 15%. HTC licensing agreement with Apple leads to good expectations for 2013!

Back in November HTC licensing agreement with Apple ended the 32 months intellectual property battle with Apple, started in March 2010. The two companies have signed a 10-year license agreement that covers all current, pending and future patents of the two companies. It is estimated that HTC pays Apple between $6 and $8 for every Android smartphone HTC sells. HTC has the right to use Apple patents but with an anti-cloning provision witch protects Apples products distinguishability.
